Doris Lee Project
I would like to thank Allen Jancik for coming to our rescue. We purchased a 1912 Craftsman style home in Caldwell, Texas that was in terrible disrepair. Our options were to tear it down or save it. We felt a piece of Caldwell’s history was at stake so my husband and I opted to save it.
The next step was to figure out how to do it. There was wonderful leaded stained glass and original wood work and features throughout the home that had to be restored, protected and reincorporated into the plan in the renovation. I knew that floor plan changes had to be made to make the home livable for today’s living. It was difficult for me to figure out how to do it without destroying the home’s character and integrity. In steps Allen Jancik Interiors.
I told Allen what I had in mind and what I was trying to accomplish. I knew what I wanted but couldn’t quite figure out how to get it done. Allen took my ideas and worked his magic. He worked out a way to change the floor plan yet still keep the homes character and integrity. It looks like it was always like it is now. It flows great and meets all the requirements of today’s living beautifully. We had to open some walls and move some leaded stained glass doors but you would think they were always where they are now.
He also helped me pick interior colors. Again I knew what I wanted but kept getting the colors off when I picked a color swatch so I called Allen. He came over and in about an hour he had it all worked out. Even the painters commented on what great colors we were using. They said a lot of their clients pick bad colors then complain after the paint is done and blame them because it doesn’t look like they wanted it to.
Allen did not just come in our home and say OK this is what we are going to do. He listened to me and made what I told him I had in mind work when I couldn’t get it quite right on my own. Any time I get stuck with an idea on a project renovation I will always call Allen Jancik Interiors. It’s easy for him. He sees it immediately. This renovation would not be anywhere near as fantastic if Allen had not come in and saved the day.
Thank you so much Allen for caring about this project and wanting to help save a piece of Caldwell’s history as much as I did.
